John Gardner believed in the cultivation of leadership, and he believed in us. Every year, the White House Fellow alumni, representing every profession, background, and corner of the nation, gather to reaffirm our commitment to education, civic engagement, public service, and leadership. For 2 1/2 days, we listen, debate, reconnect, and learn. And then we return home, strengthened by new insights, evolving ideas, and old friends.
The 2012 Conference
The White House Fellows Leadership Conference included a top-rate lineup of speakers gathered to talk about innovation in business, government, and medicine; the fusion of leadership and the arts; and creativity in social problem-solving. In today's world, you can't be a leader without being extremely creative. Fellows joined for 2 1/2 days of provocative speeches and lively discussion on every key issue of the day.
